MLX90373 Magnetic Position Sensors

Melexis MLX90373 Magnetic Position Sensors are third-generation Triaxis® position sensor integrated circuits with Peripheral Sensor Interface 5 (PSI5) output. PSI5 is an open standard based on the technology used in millions of airbag safety systems. The technology delivers a data bit rate of 125kbit/s over a 2-wire unshielded cable, making it suitable for a wide number of automotive sensing applications now applied to safety and comfort, such as steering and chassis ride height measurement. Utilizing an integrated magnetic concentrator (IMC) on its surface, the magnetic position sensors sense, in a contactless fashion, the three spatial components (Bx, By, and Bz) of the applied magnetic field. This allows for the determination of rotary and linear movement. Melexis MLX90373 Magnetic Position Sensors are frequently used in many non-contacting rotary position sensor applications in automotive and industrial systems. A 2-wire implementation makes it simpler and fundamentally less costly to deploy than other forms of serial interface that require 3- or 4-wire cabling.
